Ingredients
- 2 cups jasmine sticky rice
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 ripe mango, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
Instructions
- Rinse the jasmine sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the rice and place it in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth.
- Steam the rice over high heat for 30 minutes or until tender.
- While the rice is steaming, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.
- Remove the rice from the steamer and transfer it to a bowl.
- Pour the coconut milk mixture over the rice and stir to combine.
- Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the rice sit for 10 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve it with sliced mango and toasted sesame seeds.
