Ingredients
- 2 cups diced tomatoes
- 1 cup diced onions
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the tomatoes, onions, apples, raisins, brown sugar, vinegar, water, mustard seeds, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Transfer the chutney to sterilized jars and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
- Serve with a ploughman's lunch or as a condiment for sandwiches or cheese.
