Ingredients
- 1 cup of rice
- 2 cups of water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- 2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until golden brown.
- 3. Add the cumin powder, turmeric powder, and salt to the pan and mix well.
- 4. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Stir well to coat the rice with the spices.
- 5. Add the water to the pan and bring it to a boil.
- 6. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the rice cook for about 15-20 minutes or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
- 7. Remove the pan from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
- 8. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh cilantro.
- 9. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious jantar!
