Ingredients
- 2 large yams
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and slice the yams into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
- Stir in the cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Add the yam slices to the saucepan and toss to coat them evenly.
- Transfer the coated yam slices to a baking dish.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and sprinkle the chopped pecans over the yams.
- Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until the yams are tender and the pecans are toasted.
