Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup chopped spinach
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomato
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  • Add the chopped spinach, onion, tomato, and cilantro to the bowl and mix well.
  • Add the oil and mix again.
  • Slowly add the water to the bowl, mixing as you go, until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into 8-10 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  • Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a round disc, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and place one disc in the pan.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Repeat with the remaining discs.
  • Serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
