Ingredients

  • 1 block extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Toss the cubed tofu in the cornstarch until coated.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the tofu and cook until crispy and golden brown, about 5 minutes per side.
  • Transfer the tofu to a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Pour the sauce over the tofu and toss to coat.
