Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
- 1 cup cooked black beans
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and other desired toppings
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher.
- Add the cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, soy sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.
- Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with cooking spray or oil.
- Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
- Toast the burger buns if desired.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, and topping with lettuce, tomato, and any other desired toppings.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
