Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu
- 1 cup of plant-based milk
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- 1. Drain and press the tofu to remove excess moisture.
- 2. Cut the tofu into desired chicken-like shapes, such as strips or nuggets.
- 3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the plant-based milk and spices.
- 4. In another shallow bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 5. Dip each tofu piece into the milk mixture, then coat it in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- 6. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- 7. Carefully place the coated tofu pieces into the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary.
- 8. Fry the tofu for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 9. Remove the fried tofu from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 10. Serve hot and enjoy!
