Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup, milk, and sour cream. Heat through.
- In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Gradually add in milk, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
- Spread half of the mashed potatoes in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with half of the beef mixture, then half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
