This Tuna Pasta Bake pairs al dente pasta with tender tuna, all coated in a savory tomato and cream sauce. Topped with golden, melted cheese, it’s a hearty and satisfying dish perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 250g penne pasta
  • 2 cans of tuna, drained
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. 2

Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.

  3. 3

In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until soft.

  4. 4

Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add the cream while stirring, then season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.

  5. 5

  6. 6

Gently fold in the tuna and cooked pasta, ensuring they're well combined.

  7. 7

Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

  8. 8
