Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, eggs, and water. Mix until well combined.
  • Pour batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together chocolate pudding mix and milk until smooth. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Fold in chocolate pudding mixture until well combined.
  • Once cake has cooled, spread chocolate pudding mixture over the top of the cake.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of the cake.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
