Ingredients
- 4 large tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 2 green chilies
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- 1. Chop the tomatoes, onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilies.
- 2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them crackle.
- 3. Add chopped onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Saute until onions turn translucent.
- 4. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- 5. Cook the mixture on medium heat until tomatoes become soft and mushy.
- 6. Remove from heat and let it cool down.
- 7. Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.
- 8. Serve the tomato chutney with dosa, idli, or any other snack of your choice.
