Ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon of thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon of basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of parsley

Instructions

  • 1. Chop the tomatoes, garlic, and onion.
  • 2. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • 3. Add the chopped garlic and onion to the saucepan and sauté until they are soft and translucent.
  • 4. Add the chopped tomatoes to the saucepan and cook until they start to break down.
  • 5. Stir in the cayenne pepper, salt, sugar, black pepper, paprika, cumin, oregano, thyme, basil, and parsley.
  • 6. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the sauce for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 7. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  • 8. Transfer the sauce to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  • 9. Return the sauce to the saucepan and heat it over low heat for another 5 minutes.
  • 10. Serve the tomato cayenne chilli sauce hot or cold.
