Ingredients
- 1 pound squid, cleaned and sliced into rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried thyme, dried basil, and dried parsley.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
- Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and stir until well combined.
- Add the squid rings to the batter and toss until evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Working in batches, carefully drop the squid rings into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the squid fritters from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
