Modern Spicy Shrimp Linguine

About this recipe

Our modern take on Spicy Shrimp Linguine is a culinary delight that blends succulent shrimp with the perfect hint of spice. Using fresh herbs and a touch of Cajun seasoning, this dish is both flavorful and easy to prepare. Ideal for either a quick weeknight meal or an elegant dinner party.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces linguine
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine until al dente, about 10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.

  2. 2

Meanwhile, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning.

  3. 3

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until opaque. Remove and set aside.

  4. 4

In the same skillet, add garlic and red pepper flakes; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  5. 5

Return shrimp to the skillet, add cooked pasta, reserved pasta water, lemon juice, and parsley.

  6. 6

Toss everything together, season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

  8. 8

Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley.

Chef's tip

Reserve some pasta water and use it to adjust the sauce's consistency as needed.
