Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped jalapenos
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and vegetable oil.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, and chopped jalapenos.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve the spicy pancakes hot with your favorite toppings.
