Ingredients
- 1 can of spam
- 4 cups of cooked sushi rice
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 1/4 cup of mirin
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup of furikake seasoning
- 10 sheets of nori seaweed
Instructions
- Slice the spam into 10 equal pieces.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the spam slices to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until browned and crispy.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture over the spam and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the spam is coated.
- Remove the spam from the skillet and set aside.
- Lay a sheet of nori seaweed on a flat surface.
- Scoop 1/2 cup of sushi rice onto the nori and spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of furikake seasoning over the rice.
- Place a slice of spam on top of the rice.
- Using a musubi press or your hands, shape the rice into a rectangle around the spam.
- Wrap the nori around the rice and spam, using a bit of water to seal the edges.
- Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make 10 musubi rolls.
- Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
