Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheese
- Lettuce
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
- Pickles
- Ketchup
- Mustard
Instructions
- 1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
- 2. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- 3. Season each portion of ground beef with salt and pepper.
- 4. Place a portion of ground beef onto the hot skillet or griddle.
- 5. Use a spatula to smash the beef down into a thin patty.
- 6. Cook the patty for about 2-3 minutes, until the bottom is browned and crispy.
- 7. Flip the patty and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the other side is browned and crispy.
- 8. Repeat steps 4-7 with the remaining portions of ground beef.
- 9. Toast the hamburger buns on the skillet or griddle until lightly browned.
- 10. Place a slice of cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
- 11. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
- 12. Serve the smash burgers immediately and enjoy!
