Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Onion slices
  • Pickles
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard

Instructions

  • 1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
  • 2. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  • 3. Season each portion of ground beef with salt and pepper.
  • 4. Place a portion of ground beef onto the hot skillet or griddle.
  • 5. Use a spatula to smash the beef down into a thin patty.
  • 6. Cook the patty for about 2-3 minutes, until the bottom is browned and crispy.
  • 7. Flip the patty and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the other side is browned and crispy.
  • 8. Repeat steps 4-7 with the remaining portions of ground beef.
  • 9. Toast the hamburger buns on the skillet or griddle until lightly browned.
  • 10. Place a slice of cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  • 11. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
  • 12. Serve the smash burgers immediately and enjoy!
