Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheese
- Lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles for toppings
Instructions
- 1. Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- 2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into balls.
- 3. Season each ball with salt and pepper.
- 4. Place a ball of ground beef onto the hot griddle and immediately smash it down with a spatula to flatten it.
- 5. Cook the patty for about 2-3 minutes, until the bottom is browned and crispy.
- 6. Flip the patty and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the other side is browned and the patty is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- 7. Repeat steps 4-6 with the remaining balls of ground beef.
- 8. Toast the hamburger buns on the griddle until lightly browned.
- 9. Place a slice of cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
- 10. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun, and topping with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.
- 11. Serve the smash burgers immediately and enjoy!
