Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp ice water
- 4-5 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a food processor, pulse together the all-purpose flour, almond flour, powdered sugar, and salt until combined.
- Add the chilled butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
- Add the egg yolk and ice water and pulse until the dough comes together.
- Press the dough into a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom, making sure to press it up the sides.
- In a large bowl, toss together the sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Arrange the apple slices in the tart shell in a circular pattern, starting from the outside and working your way in.
- Brush the melted butter over the top of the apples.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Let cool before serving.
