Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup candy jewels

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla extract.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  • Pour the ganache over the cooled brownies and spread evenly. Sprinkle the candy jewels over the top and press lightly to adhere.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the ganache is set. Cut into bars and serve.
