About this recipe

Experience the melt-in-your-mouth tenderness of baby back ribs with this updated recipe. By using slow-roasting and finishing with a caramelized glaze, these ribs are perfect for any occasion. Whether you're hosting a barbecue or cooking a family dinner, these ribs are sure to impress.

Ingredients

  • 2 racks of baby back ribs
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce of choice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

  2. 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs using a paper towel for grip.

  3. 3

Combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

  4. 4

Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.

  5. 5

Wrap each rack of ribs in heavy-duty aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet.

  6. 6

Roast in the oven for 2.5 hours or until the ribs are tender.

  7. 7

Carefully remove the foil, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce, and increase oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).

  8. 8

Roast for an additional 10-15 minutes until the sauce is sticky and caramelized.

Chef's tip

For a smokier flavor, consider finishing the ribs on a grill instead of in the oven, basting with extra sauce for added caramelization.
