Po Caseiro Delight

About this recipe

Experience the traditional flavors of Brazil with this Po Caseiro Delight. A creamy blend of milks and eggs paired with a rich caramel layer makes this dessert irresistible. Simple to prepare, it's perfect for both special occasions and everyday enjoyment.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

Combine condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, eggs, cornstarch, and vanilla extract in a blender. Blend until smooth.

  3. 3

Heat the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until it melts and turns a rich amber color.

  4. 4

Pour the caramelized sugar into a baking dish, spreading it evenly across the base.

  5. 5

Carefully pour the milk mixture over the caramel layer.

  6. 6

Place the baking dish in a larger pan. Fill the larger pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the baking dish.

  7. 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

Allow it to cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Chef's tip

Ensure the caramel is evenly spread on the base of the dish to prevent sticking. Refrigeration time is essential for the dessert to set properly.
