Ingredients

  • 1 lb. spaghetti noodles
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Cook spaghetti noodles according to package instructions.
  • In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  • Add onion, garlic, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, brown sugar, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
