Ingredients

  • 200g paneer, cubed
  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Fresh coriander leaves, roughly chopped, for garnish

Directions

    Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the onions until golden brown.

    Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute, stirring continuously.

    Mix in the tomatoes, and cook until they soften and release their juices.

    Stir in cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 2 more minutes.

    Add chickpeas and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.

    Gently fold in the paneer cubes and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
