Ingredients

  • 4 slices of fresh crusty bread
  • 6 ounces of mortadella, thinly sliced
  • 4 leaves of butter lettuce
  • 1 heirloom tomato, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons pesto
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons whole grain mustard
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions

    Slice the bread and lightly toast each piece.

    Mix pesto and mayonnaise, then spread on one side of each bread slice.

    Spread mustard on the other side of each bread slice.

    Layer mortadella evenly across two of the bread slices.

    Add lettuce leaves and tomato slices on top of the mortadella.

    Season with salt and pepper to taste.
