Ingredients

  • 1 lb grass-fed ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  • Add the onion, garlic, and peppers and cook until softened.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  • Bring to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • If using kidney beans, add them to the pot and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
