Ingredients

  • 1 lb mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add garlic and ginger and sauté for a minute.
  • Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until they release their moisture and start to brown.
  • Add coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add tomato puree and cook until the mixture thickens.
  • Add heavy cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
