Moong Dal Breakfast Delight
A delicious and healthy breakfast option made with moong dal, also known as mung beans.
Nutrition Per Serving
- 1 cup moong dal
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 green chili, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Water as required
- Wash and soak the moong dal for 2-3 hours.
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onion and green chili. Saute until onion turns translucent.
- Add chopped tomato and cook until it turns soft.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
- Add soaked moong dal and water. Mix well and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the dal is cooked.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
