Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup mango puree
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with the buttermilk and mango puree. Stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
