Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup ground walnuts
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup apricot jam

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  • Add the butter and use a pastry cutter or your hands to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add the sour cream, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, and mix until the dough comes together.
  • Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and shape each part into a ball.
  • On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a circle about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Spread a thin layer of apricot jam over each circle.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the sugar and ground walnuts.
  • Sprinkle the sugar and walnut mixture over the jam.
  • Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut each circle into 12 equal wedges.
  • Starting at the wide end, roll up each wedge tightly and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
