Ingredients

  • 2 cans of young green jackfruit in brine
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • 1. Drain and rinse the jackfruit.
  • 2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • 3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
  • 4. Add the jackfruit to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 5. Use a fork or potato masher to shred the jackfruit into smaller pieces.
  • 6. Add the smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir to coat the jackfruit.
  • 7. Pour the BBQ sauce over the jackfruit and stir to combine.
  • 8. Reduce the heat to low and let the jackfruit simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
