About this recipe

This modern take on a classic chili is packed with protein and flavor. Utilizing lean ground beef, a variety of beans, aromatic spices, and fresh vegetables, it's a nutritious meal that's both filling and delicious. Ideal for meal prep or a family dinner, this chili brings warmth and nourishment to your table.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) no salt added crushed tomatoes

  • 1 cup water
  • Optional toppings: fresh lime juice, Greek yogurt, cilantro, shredded cheddar, diced green onions

Directions

  1. 1

Heat a large pot over medium-high and brown the ground beef until cooked through. Drain excess fat.

Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors meld.

  7. 7

Chef's tip

For a vegetarian version, replace beef with meatless crumbles or add extra beans. Adjust chili powder for your spice preference.
