Ingredients

  • 1 pack soya chaap
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Directions

    Boil soya chaap in salted water for 3-5 minutes to soften. Drain and cut into 2-inch pieces.

    Heat olive oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to temper.

    Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

    Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.

    Stir in chopped tomatoes and green chili, cooking until tomatoes are soft.

    Add coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Mix well.

    Add the soya chaap pieces and stir to coat with the spice mixture.

    Simmer on low heat for 5-7 minutes. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.

Chef's tip

For extra richness, you can optionally stir in a tablespoon of low-fat yogurt or cream before garnishing.
