Ingredients

  • 2 cups masa harina
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

  • Oil spray for cooking
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup low-fat sour cream

Directions

  1. 1

Place a tablespoon of cheese, turkey, onions, cilantro, tomatoes, peppers, and jalapenos onto each disc.

  4. 4

Fold the dough over the filling, seal the edges, and reshape into a disc.

  5. 5

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and lightly spray with oil.

  6. 6

Cook each pupusa for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  7. 7

Serve with salsa and sour cream on the side.

Chef's tip

For a vegetarian version, replace the ground turkey with refried beans or extra vegetables as a filling.
