Ingredients

  • 1 pound oyster mushrooms
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Clean the oyster mushrooms and remove any dirt or debris.
  • In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, dried basil, and dried parsley.
  • Dip each mushroom into the buttermilk, then coat it in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere the flour to the mushroom.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the mushrooms in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove the mushrooms from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
