Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to steam.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Slowly pour the sugar mixture into the hot milk, whisking constantly.
- Continue to cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool completely.
- Once the mixture has cooled, pour it into a shallow dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Once the mixture is firm, shape it into small balls or any desired shape.
- Roll the shaped mixture in bread crumbs, making sure to coat it evenly.
- In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the coated mixture into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides.
- Remove the fried milk delights from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve the fried milk delights warm and enjoy!
