Ingredients

  • 4 green tomatoes
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Slice the green tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick slices.

  • In another shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.

  • Fry the coated tomato slices in the hot oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Transfer the fried tomatoes to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
