Ingredients

  • 2 cups of rice
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup of peas
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric

Instructions

  • 1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  • 2. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil.
  • 3. Add the rice to the boiling water and cook for 10 minutes.
  • 4. Drain the rice and set aside.
  • 5. In a separate pan, heat the oil over medium heat.
  • 6. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant.
  • 7. Add the diced carrot, bell pepper, and peas to the pan and cook until tender.
  • 8. Add the cooked rice to the pan and stir to combine.
  • 9. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, salt, black pepper, paprika, and turmeric.
  • 10. Pour the sauce over the rice and vegetables and stir to coat evenly.
  • 11. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, until everything is heated through.
