Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Cook until golden brown.
  • Add ginger paste and garlic paste. Cook for a minute.
  • Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned.
  • Add the pureed tomatoes, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  • Cover the pan and let the chicken cook on low heat for about 20 minutes or until it is tender.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
