  • 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 onions, sliced

  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the beef cubes and brown them on all sides. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.

  • Add the tomato paste and stir well to coat the onions and garlic.
  • Pour in the red wine and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  • Return the beef to the pot and add the bay leaves, dried oregano, dried thyme, and cinnamon stick. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
