About this recipe

Enjoy a modern twist on the classic Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry! This dish features tender slices of beef and crisp broccoli florets enveloped in a savory sauce with hints of garlic and ginger. It's a quick, satisfying meal that suits any busy lifestyle.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons water (for steaming)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Directions

  1. 1

Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger; set aside.

  2. 2

Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

Sauté beef slices until browned, about 3-5 minutes; remove and set aside.

  4. 4

Add broccoli and water to the skillet, cover and steam for 3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Return beef to the skillet.

  6. 6

Pour sauce over beef and broccoli; stir to coat.

  7. 7

Mix cornstarch and water, add to skillet, and stir to thicken sauce.

  8. 8

Serve over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds.

Chef's tip

For added flavor, consider marinating the beef in a bit of soy sauce and ginger ahead of time. Ensure broccoli is cooked until just tender to maintain its vibrant color and crisp texture.
