Sugar-Free Banana Chocolate Cake

About this recipe

This sugar-free banana chocolate cake is a delightful treat for those watching their sugar intake. Sweetened naturally with ripe bananas, this cake is both moist and flavorful, perfect for any occasion. Easy to prepare with simple ingredients, it caters to health-conscious dessert lovers without compromising on taste.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 50 grams dark chocolate (85% cocoa, optional)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and line a 6-inch cake pan with parchment paper.

  2. 2

In a blender, combine bananas, eggs, cocoa powder, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth.

  3. 3

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

  4. 4

Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  5. 5

For optional chocolate glaze, warm heavy cream in a pan (without boiling), add chopped dark chocolate, let sit, and then stir until smooth.

  6. 6

Allow the cake to cool before removing from the pan. If using glaze, spread over the cake and let it set before serving.

Chef's tip

For a fudgier texture, chill the cake before serving. Ensure bananas are ripe for maximum natural sweetness.
