Homemade Big Mac

About this recipe

Experience the iconic flavors of a Big Mac right in your own kitchen with this easy-to-follow recipe. Perfect for a family dinner or a casual gathering, this homemade version brings healthier ingredients and modern cooking techniques to your favorite fast-food classic.

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 1 small iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 2 pickles, thinly sliced
  • 1 small white onion, finely diced
  • 8 sesame seed hamburger buns
  • 4 tbsp Big Mac sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions

  1. 1

Prepare Big Mac sauce by mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, onion, and white wine vinegar.

  2. 2

Form ground beef into 8 patties, slightly wider than the buns, and season with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. 4

Cook patties for 1-2 minutes on each side until fully cooked.

  5. 5

Lightly toast buns face down in the same skillet.

  6. 6

Assemble each burger: spread Big Mac sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce, a cheese slice, a beef patty, another layer of Big Mac sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onion.

  7. 7

Top with the final bun layer, secure with a skewer if needed, and serve immediately.

Chef's tip

Feel free to substitute with turkey or plant-based patties for a lighter or vegetarian version.
