Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Arrange 4 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by half of the mozzarella cheese and a third of the Parmesan cheese.
- Repeat layers with remaining ingredients, ending with a layer of meat sauce and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and lasagna is bubbly.
- Let lasagna cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
