- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup water
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.

Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and water. Simmer for 20 minutes.

Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer with noodles, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce and mozzarella.

Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
