About this recipe

Experience a delightful blend of flavors with these tender pork chops smothered in a creamy garlic mushroom sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner, this dish is both satisfying and easy to prepare, making it a fantastic choice for home cooks looking to impress.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. 1

Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork chops for 4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  3. 3

Add butter to the same skillet and melt. Sauté mushrooms and garlic until mushrooms are golden and tender, about 3 minutes.

  4. 4

Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir in Parmesan cheese, thyme, and red pepper flakes.

  5. 5

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until sauce thickens, approximately 5 minutes.

  6. 6

Return pork chops to the skillet, spoon sauce over them, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  7. 7

Serve hot, garnished with additional thyme if desired.

Chef's tip

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream or use a milk alternative.
