About this recipe

Indulge in this modern take on a classic Cowboy Burger, filled with smoky, bold flavors reminiscent of the Wild West. This recipe combines juicy beef patties infused with BBQ sauce and spices, topped with gooey cheddar, crispy bacon, and crunchy pickles, all nestled in a toasted bun.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices crispy bacon
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
  • Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for topping

Directions

  1. 1

Mix ground beef, barbecue sauce, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

  2. 2

Divide and shape into 4 patties.

  3. 3

Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill patties 5 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness.

  4. 4

Place a slice of cheddar on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  5. 5

    Toast buns on the grill.

  6. 6

Assemble burgers: bun, patty, bacon, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, pickles, top bun.

Chef's tip

For a spicier kick, consider adding more pickled jalapeños to your taste.
