Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced bell pepper
- 1/4 cup diced mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for topping
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, barbecue sauce, breadcrumbs, diced onion, diced bell pepper, diced mushrooms, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.
- Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, and pickles, and cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the cowboy burgers with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
