Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Mix together cake mix, water, oil, and eggs until well combined.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Pour batter into a greased stiletto-shaped cake pan.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cake cool completely.
  • In a saucepan, heat heavy cream until it just begins to boil.
