Ingredients

  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the marinara sauce to the skillet and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the top.
  • Cover the skillet and cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 5 minutes.
